Playing an instrument doesn't make you a musician, having a pretty voice doesn't make you a singer, playing dress up doesn't make you some kind of fashion innovator. These days it seems that being rebellious is the "cool" thing to do. I find myself in the midst of all the desperate fame antics and it makes me nervous about where the music really is. I personally find growth as an artist from allowing the rough, the dangerous and even the risky moments take control of each song I write.
